Sales are finally almost over and spring colors are on their way back into your wardrobe and make-up bags. Quite naturally, spring also calls for a change in the way you wear your hair.

For the fashionistas in the Northern Hemisphere, summer is no doubt a delightful thought; though a lot are still in the grips of winter with chilly days and nights to face. Still, with March in full swing, spring is just a matter of weeks away, which means summer couldn't be far behind. And every woman wants to look her beautiful best during summer.

To say that this article is a trend report is actually a misstatement. If we were to describe every key haircut, hair style and hair color trend for 2010, we know for sure we cannot do it justice. Styles, lengths, and all sorts of cuts including buns, rolls and bobs are everywhere once again. Generally, styles are becoming more casual and free compared to the past year's neat precision cuts and styles; styles and trends are unpredictable and anybody's guess. • The Ever-living Bob - Back in the scene again, the perennial bob cut has evolved into strong graphic outlines combining curves and sharp lines. Asymmetry is the order of the day with one side longer; or you can raise the back (shorter) and lower the front (longer). Don't be scared to gradually mix lengths, add volume with layers or stick to one length cuts, if that's more comfortable. This is one summer hair style that you can tailor according to your face and lifestyle - distinctively and uniquely YOU.

  Fringe with a Bang - This is another hot item for summer 2010. You can either add elegance or deliver a bold statement with fringes. Make your own variations and go for fringes that put forward your personality and facial features. You have a variety of choice from soft and wispy, casual choppy edges or strong bold lines - they are all guaranteed to be hot. Fringe is all about having fun, being sexy and being you.

The braid brigade has to be the biggest trend for summer 2010, falling in two distinct camps: tight and sleek like state-of-the art hair architecture or the surfer chic version, which is more loosely worn in matte, roughly textured plaits snaking over the shoulders - and it doesn't even require gloss spray.
• Unregimented Crops - The focus is still on volume and natural looking movement with summer hair styles for 2010. Crops are still very much in with short unrestricted lengths that give added bounce and volume to this style. Don't get stuck with solid crop; instead, go for broken edges and textures that utilize the natural flow of your hair as guide.
• Hot Buns, Up-dos and Chignons - Although you can go for the more casual look and style from the base of the head, buns are all about height for summer 2010, as exaggerated and roughed up ballerina buns or sky-high sculptured chignon emerge. It may take a lot of teasing before the bun is actually formed but the result is dramatic and you can even interlace beads and threads into the hair before creating the chignon for a more spectacular effect.

What Hairstyles do you like?

Have you been styling your hair pretty much the same way for years? It seems like I search for a brand new hairstyle every so often and comb many online sites and magazines for ideas. I come out with a photo of a hairstyle that I absolutely love.

Then when I take this hairstyles photo I love to the stylist to get it cut, I find out that the style is pretty much exactly the same way me hair is right now with a few minor additions or changes.

Maybe I will add a wispy bang, full bang or even choppy bangs. Maybe layers around the face is the change this time. But all the styles look the same.

Sometimes it is really hard to break out of the same hairstyle rut. Drastic measures may be necessary, such as going from a long hair style to a medium or short one. Or adding some highlights or even changing your color completely.

The best advice for breaking out of the hairstyles rut is to do everything gradually. If you want to go with the cute short bob hairstyles that all the celebrities are wearing, take it slow. Try out the long bob first, then go to medium length before making the plunge to very short hair.
