Hairlista.com is in Black Beauty Magazine!

So last night I was browsing through the Hairlista forums and a Hairlista Diva posted a discussion stating that our website, Hairlista.com, was featured in Black Beauty Magazine! We were ranked 2nd in the Top 5 Healthy Hair Care sites/vlogs. I was so shocked, excited and happy all at once! I had no clue that this even took place. It all started from a Youtuber by the name of PrettyDimples. She was also featured in the Magazine (Congrats girl!) and she posted pictures in her video of the magazine article.

Hairlista Inc. Set To Help Haiti Earthquake Victims - You Can Help!

Since the devastating earthquake (7.0-magnitude) hit Haiti on January 12th 2010, I've been thinking of ways to donate extra money to help the people of Haiti. It has also come to my attention that another earthquake (magnitude-6.1) hit Haiti today. This truly breaks my heart.

A member of Hairlista left me a note asking for us Hairlistas to pull together and make a contribution some how, some way. I whole-heartedly agreed with her!!

From Jan 20th to March 20th 2010, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Hairlista Inc. T-Shirts & Tote bags will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross to benefit & support relief efforts in Haiti—providing medical support, clean water, food and shelter to people who have lost everything.

When purchasing a T-shirt or Tote bag, not only are you representing Hairlista Inc. and investing in your Hair Care Journey, but you are also helping the millions people who have been affected by this disaster, and those who are now left homeless.

Let's pull together and do our part. Your help is needed!

• The Red Cross is taking donations via text messages. Text the word HAITI to the number 90999 to donate $10 to Red Cross relief efforts. It'll show up on your phone bill. Or donate online at RedCross.org or RedCross.ca

• Doctors Without Borders is asking for donations to help the emergency response teams in Haiti. Donate with a debit or credit card at https://donate.doctorswithoutborders.org.

• Catholic Relief Services is responding to the aftermath of the massive earthquake that struck near the capital of Port au Prince. www.crs.org.

• UNICEF is seeking donations to the ongoing emergency relief efforts in Haiti and the Caribbean region through www.unicefusa.org/haitiquake or call 1-800-4UNICEF.

• The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) -- the natural disaster relief arm of the OAS -- is asking people who want to donate to visit its special relief website www.PanAmericanRelief.org.

• Food For The Poor is a Christian relief agency headquartered in Coconut Creek. Donate over the phone at 1-800-487-1158 or online at www.foodforthepoor.org/HaitiQuake

No Heat Challenge!

Tiara Smith, a fellow Hairlista Diva, is hosting a NO HEAT Challenge on Hairlista.com. She is inviting everyone to take part and motivate one another! Check out her YT video below:




This challenge will last for 6 months. You are to use absolutely NO HEAT!!! No flat iron, curling iron, hot comb, or blow dryer. If you are not aware, excessive use of heat is one of the most damaging things one can apply to the hair (especially to relaxed hair).

With that being said, we are going on a HEAT STRIKE! Put those hot tools down and let`s get healthier hair together.

I will definitely be joining this challenge :-)
